Mito Wiring - Read Me

NOTE: These sheets were derived from the Mito 2 wiring diagram. To the best of my knowledge this is 95% identical to all the Mito's, the only exception being as far as I know is where there is a low fuel warning lamp fitted.

Wire Identification Page:

Listed by the Cable Number in the wiring diagram.
Column A - Cable Number
Column B - Cable Colour
Column c - Where the cable originates
Column D - Where the cable goes via a second point
Column E - Where the cable terminates
Column F - Basic description of it's function
Column G - Indicates more notes about this cable at the bottom of the page

eg: Row 62

Cable 61 is White and Black, starts at the CDI Unit, goes via the PV Controller to the input of the coil.

eg: Row 12

Cable 11 is Green and Black and originates at the ignition switch, goes via multiple destinations listed in note #2 and connects to the right handlebar switches.

SIMPLE HUH?

Item Connection Page:

Listed by the Item Number in the wiring diagram.
Column A - Item Number
Column B - Item Name
Column C/D - First Connection and Cable Number
Column E/F - Second Connection and Cable Number
Column G/H - Third Connection and Cable Number
Column I/J - Forth Connection and Cable Number
Column K/L - Fifth Connection and Cable Number
Column M/N - Sixth Connection and Cable Number

eg: Row 15

Item Number 14, the Neutral switch, has one connection which goes to the Neutral Lamp. It is Wire number 20.

eg: Row 8

Item Number 7, the Starter Solonoid, has four connections. One is Earth - Wire 5, two is the Starter Motor - Wire 20, three is the Starter Relay - Wire 21, and four is the Battery - Wire 58.

So now finding out where that wire goes is easy!

Here's and example.....
Your horns not working when you press the button.....

Starting at the horn (Item 24) you can see there are 2 wires connected to it - 12 Volt Switched feed on Wire 11 and the Horn Button on Wire 31.
Wire 11 is green and black, Wire 31 is Grey.
Get out the multimeter, turn on the ignition, you should be getting 12 volts on the green and black wire. If it's not there you can trace it back to it's origin (the ignition switch) and find out why.
If the 12 volts is there then the fault is in the neutral side of the circuit (in the case of the horn, it works on a switched neutral, not a switched live). Put the multimeter on continuity, put one end on the battery -ve terminal and the other on the grey wire. When you press the horn button you should get continuity. If you do it proves the actual horn is duff. If not then you can trace wire 31 back to the horn switch and ultimately to where the connection is broken.

How about this.....

You stripped the bike down for a rebuild 3 weeks ago, and now you're putting it back together. All's going well when you find an odd wire and you can't remember where it goes....

Its a Yellow and Green wire. Look down the colour column til you find it - fortunately there's only one yell/grn wire - Wire 22 - and it connects the neutral switch to the neutral lamp. Job's a goodun!

This will probably make more sense when viewed with the Cagiva wiring diagram and hopefully even more transparent once I've finished the Point to Point Diagrams.

If you find any mistakes, please let me know and I'll sort them out!

Enjoy!

Tonton a écrit:
C'est le relais de démarrage:
Particularité des cagivas, ce relais est relié au bobine d'alimentation pour couper automatiquement le démarreur lorsque le moteur a démarré (c'est une sécurité).
